It’s fall time! And you know what that means! Fall colors! Yes, it is this time of year where the leaves start to change into brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds. Growing up in the Sandhills of North Carolina, we had mostly pine trees that never changed color. But moving up to the mountains, I was thrilled to learn that there was actually different colors throughout the year. These colors make for fantastic pictures and some pretty unique pictures as well. This is the time of year where we break out the flannel and pictures for some reason just look cozier than any other time of the year.
Looking for some fall foliage? Well, the Weather Channel generates a map to tell you when and where fall foliage is throughout the United States. If you live in the Southeast, the Blue Ridge Parkway is the perfect place to photograph the colorful fall foliage. Located in North Carolina and Virginia, there are many outlooks all along the Parkway that overlook the mountain ranges the bright colors. My family lives only 10 minutes from the Parkway and we go all the time, it’s a great place to find the perfect photo opportunities along the overlooks as well as trails. Trust me, y’all will love it!
Fall is not only a great time to break out the flannel, boots, and hot chocolate, but it’s also a unique time of year to take advantage of what God creates and get out there and take some photos of just how great His creations are.
